Monts Dore, Auvergne, France

Sunlit dandelions and a view of the Monts Dore in the Auvergne. Not far from Puy-de-Dôme and Clermont Ferrand, this is the volcanic region of France, though the volcanos have long been extinct. Puy-de-Dôme is a must-visit for it's views, and the steep winding road which has been used in the Tour de France. Monts Dore is more rugged but has the added bonus of winter ski resorts.
