Nathaniel Hawthorne's home in Salem, Massachusettes

Born in 1804 as Nathaniel Hawthome in Salem Massachusetts, the author who penned The Scarlet Letter, The House of the Seven Gables and The Marble Faun. Hawthorne was born in this home (circa 1730–1745). This plain red clapboard home was relocated from it's original address of 27 Hardy Street to it's current location 54 Turner Street. Close at hand is the infamous "House of the Seven Gables" which you can tour as well as the Hawthorne House.
