Kona, Hawaii , USA

This is a picture that my husband took when we were on vacation on the big island of Hawaii in 2009. They're tiki statues located at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau (Place of Refuge) National Park in Kona, Hawaii.

The tradition of the native Hawaiians was if you broke taboo, you could swim across the bay & seek sanctuary in the temple located at the site. Hawaiian royalty also lived here.
