Providence, Rhode Island, USA

The smallest state Rhode Island has a rather large state capitol building. Located in Providence, it boasts of beautiful statues and the fourth-largest free-standing marble domes in the world (the others are St. Paul's Basilica, the Minnesota State Capitol, and the Taj Mahal).

The building was designed and constructed from 1895 to 1904 and used 327,000 cubic feet (9,300 m3) of white Georgia marble. On top of the dome is the 11 foot (3.4m) statue called "The Independent Man". You can easily see this building from I-95 and is very close to the Providence Mall.
