Boston, Massachusetts, USA
A photograph of a Humpback whale in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Massachusetts. This photograph was taken during a whale watch cruise. A sunny day that turned into a rainy day. Lucky for me, it just happened to be during the same weekend as the Tall Ships event in Massachusetts. A few photographs like this one made it ok that the sun went away. There is nothing you can do for New England weather, be prepared for all weather changes.

Hot Springs, California, USA
Approximately 7000 ft. above the valley, lies a beautiful retreat. Even in the late 1800's, this was a popular place for tourists to come to get away from it all, and soak in the hot springs. The original building still stands, also; and is now an ice cream & gift shop.

Portland Head , Maine, USA
The iconic image of Maine's rocky coast- the Portland Head Light. Actually located in Cape Elizabeth, it sits in Fort Williams Park. It is a popular tourist attraction, and in the summertime, it is a pleasant place to be.
But wait- there's another lighthouse in this picture. If you look close enough, you can see the Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse just right of center at the horizon.

Acadia , Maine, USA
What Maine is known for- rocky shores. In Mount Desert Island, the southeastern part is host to a magnificent view of the rocky shores. There is a small beach that is very popular.
This scene was taken there. We actually visited it twice. The first time, it was so crowded it was impossible to take any decent commercial photos (believe me, I tried!). But we liked it so much, we returned the next day and this is what we saw.
A word of advice- the water is very cold!

Royal Naval Shipyard , Bermuda
At the northern end of Bermuda is the Royal Naval Shipyard. Once an outpost of the Royal Navy, it is now a quaint collection of shops and museums. Large cruise ships dock nearby, so it gets awfully crowded during the tourist season.

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
This photograph was taken from Kangaroo Point, a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The colorful lights of Brisbane's central business district are reflected in the Brisbane River. There are cliffs near here where locals and tourists rock climb. It's also a popular picnic destination, which was lucky for me... I used a picnic table as a tripod to steady my camera for this shot!

Teton County, Wyoming, USA
This photograph was taken in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The mountain view is at Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park. You will see a mountain range come to and end at this lake. It is great for panoramic photographs, if you have the availability of stitching program in your camera or a panoramic camera. Parking is just off the road along most of the lake in front of the mountains. It's a grand site to see just before leaving the park and entering into Yellowstone National Park.

Cape Cod , Maine USA
This was taken at Cape Cod, home of beaches, cottages, and lighthouses. This is the Highlands Lighthouse at North Truro. That is located on the eastern end of the Cape. For those who are into geography, that is 42° 02' 21" N
70° 03' 44" W.
The station was established in 1797, making it one of the oldest (and the first to use flashing lights). The present structure was built in 1857. And it still lights up.
Grounds are open all year. Take a drive up there. I'm sure you'll fall in love with old Cape Cod!

South Jetty Beach, Florida, USA
A lonely surfboard was sitting on an eroded beach on the South Jetty Beach, Florida. The erosion does make a convienent shelf, but wrecks havoc on the sea turtles.... Come and bring your surfboards!

Stonehenge, Wiltshire, England
The ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is probably England's best known tourist attraction outside of London. A World Heritage Site, nobody is 100% sure why it was built, or exactly how and why they decided to transport the large rocks all the way from Wales to do so.
This photograph was taken on the Summer Solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year, which is without a doubt the best time to visit. Modern druids perform ceremonies at dusk and dawn, you can enter the circle instead of being confined to a path round the outside, and you can even touch the stones. Best of all it's free! After staying up all night, (or possibly hiding away to sleep in the designated camping area a couple of fields away) you can watch the sun rise and try to snap a memorable picture for yourself.

Gettysburg , Pennsylvania, USA
At the very center of the Gettysburg battle is the monument for the 72nd Pennsylvania Zouaves Brigade. As the statue implies, it was the scene of bitter fighting when the Rebel army made the Pickett's Charge of July 3, 1863.
Shot at sunset, you can see the golden light reflected off the bronze statue.
By the way, if this looks familiar, this is the statue on the obverse side of the new quarter for Pennsylvania.
