The Point Defiance ferryboat leaves from Tacoma, WA and travels a short 10 or 15 minutes to Tahlequah at the southern tip of Vashon Island. From there you can drive the length of the island and take another ferry to Seattle or to the Olympic Peninsula, where more ferries will carry you to many other parts of Puget Sound. It's a great way to travel! One time I had my birthday party (yes, I'm a grown-up) on this boat. We did have to ride back and forth a few times, but it was lots of fun.
