Desert Highway Postcard from Zazzle.com
Along US Interstate 40, about 1 to 2 hours west of Williams, AZ, we were on a typical desert highway. I stopped to take this photo.
If you notice carefully, I was not in the middle of the highway, as there were cars and trucks speeding by at 75 mph (120 kph). I stopped the car, set up the shot, and then quickly got back in.
Two words of advice: be very careful in setting up a safe location for a photo and burn a disk of Western-themed music (my favorite: the theme from The Magnificent Seven) for listening to music while you drive.
You'll swear you'll be seeing John Wayne galloping in the distance!
