Estaing, France
The medieval town of Estaing, Aveyron, in the Midi-Pyrenées region of France was another important stop on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route. The castle dates from the 15thC, An ornate 20th century cross stands on a 16th century gothic bridge over the river Lot in the foreground. This village is classed as one of the most beautiful in France and is a world heritage site. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, it is definitely a place worth visiting.
