Cayuga Lake Bench NY
Cayuga Lake Bench
How peaceful this couple seemed, sitting on a shady bench on a hot summer day in Taughannock Falls State Park in Ulysses, New York, admiring lovely Cayuga Lake and enjoying the gentle breeze. An overhanging willow branch provided dappled shade. The grass was a lovely shade of green and there were a few clouds in the blue sky.
This postcard conveyed the serenity of the day.

Cultus Lake
Cultus Lake is a fairly large recreational lake in a small community of the same name, on the outskirts of Chilliwack, British Columbia Canada. In the summer months the lake is buzzing with activity - pleasure boats of all sizes pull waterskiers and tubers behind them, small fishing skiffs and pontoon boats with families sport fishing, and hundreds of sunbathers crowd the beaches. During the fall and winter months it is much quieter, with just the odd person walking their dog or enjoying the spectacular fall color.

Korean Tree
This photo was taken we went on a family trip to Korea last year. It was late winter, early spring and the trees which were still bare were on the cusp of rebirth. This shot was taken as the sun was setting as we were making our way back to the hotel.
Fishing on Cayuga Lake
Fishing on Cayuga Lake
Two fishermen are alone with the vast blue sky and lovely clear Cayuga Lake. The photo was taken at Taughannock Falls State Park in New York State. I think this postcard conveys a feeling of great peace and serenity.

Makapu'u Lighthouse, HI
Makapu'u Lighthouse, windward coast of Oahu, Hawaii. Shot just before the the day turned to night.
Access to the lighthouse is restricted but entry to the coastal lighthouse path can be gained with a little hiking/climbing. Once on the path turning the last bend reveals an awesome sight as the lighthouse towers in front of the vast blue ocean beyond.
If you ever find yourself on the island of Oahu visiting Makapu'u lighthouse I'd definitely recommend looking around a bit and seeing if you can find a trail leading around gates and fences to the lighthouse path.

Paradise Island
This is a postcard of Paradise Island, just off the coast of the Dominican Republic. This island is tiny as it is just a sandbar in the middle of the sea! The only thing there is a little wooden hut and some tourist who visit for the day for some good snorkelling. It was a beautiful place with it's white sand and blue sea, my idea of heaven!

The town is almost surrounded on all sides by the Columbia river. In the spring, cherry blossoms are everywhere. Some of the worlds best apples are raised here Happy Activities to enjoy here are the boat races held in July. This is the area I grew up in & still visit often.

St. Augustine Beach FL
You can't resist the beauty of the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. As the dawn breaks, the beachwalkers show up and the sandpipers start their breakfast dance! It's so funny to watch them skitter right into the waves as little packs - they synchronize their movements so well. This is the beach of St. Augustine Beach - an island on the northwest coast of Florida. It's well worth a visit and everyone there is so friendly!

Appalachian Mountains
7 Springs Resort is a fantastic place to observe autumn color in southwestern Pennsylvania. This picture of the Appalachian Mountains covered with fall-colored trees was taken from within the resort. During fall time, the resort also features Autumnfest weekends where you can buy local crafts, drink hot cider, and take a ski lift to see the scenery.

This amazing waterfall in upstate New York's Taughannock Falls State Park plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge. The powerful water pounds the pool below and creates an amazing mist. It is located in Ulysses, New York along the western shore of beautiful Cayuga Lake.

Black Butte.
The log cabin sits on top of Black Butte. It is the private residence for the forest service people who serve as fire lookouts for my area. No roads, just a two mile uphill hiking trail makes this accessible. On a clear day the Cabin has views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Three Finger Jack, and the Three Sisters, Black Butte Ranch, and more.
