At nearly 15,000 feet high, the Matterhorn, overlooking Zermatt, is one of the highest peaks in the Pennine Alps between Switzerland and Italy. Pretty buildings in Taxco Post Card from Zazzle.com

A couple years ago I visited the city of Taxco in the state of Guerrero, Mexico with three other friends. We were only there a few hours. Taxco is a city built on mountainsides and it has a strict building code (for tourists) so all of the buildings have white walls and red tile roofs. It is famous for silver jewelry. Mexico has been one of the largest exporters of silver.

Nebraska City, Nebraska

This is an excellent view of an antique carriage that is displayed in the carriage house at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park in Nebraska City, Nebraska. This home belonged to one of the most influential families in early Nebraska history; the Mortons. Many beautifully preserved antiques in the home and outbuildings are available for regular viewing on the grounds of the estate.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech republic

A photo of the castle tower in the evening sunlight, in the world heritage site of Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. Dating back to the 13th century, the tower and building known as the little castle is just part of the large castle complex. It sits perched on rock above the river Vltava which winds through the town. The decorative painted walls are typical of this beautiful town. Most people know Prague, but a trip to see Český Krumlov shouldn't be missed!

Bali, Asia

I traveled to Bali shortly after Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat, Pray, Love" was published. The beaches are beautiful, but it was in Ubud that we were taken into the community and found ourselves plotting ways to stay indefinitely. One new friend invited us to a celebration at her extended family's compound, where they would be re-dedicating the family temple during one of the numerous Hindu festivals. Here the youngest daughters of the family dance together, accompanied by a gamalon band of their brothers, cousins, fathers, uncles and neighbors just off to their right while their mothers and aunts coach and smiled from the sides on the left. Later, the mothers of the family would perform a sedately flowing dance that would carry offering baskets to the inner temple. I think this was the most memorable day of three months of amazing travel in South-East Asia. Bali is safe, and the beauty of its natural surroundings is surpassed only by that of its people. You should go visit--they'd be very happy to see you!

Big Ben , London, England

Born and bred in London I have walked past Big Ben on many occasions, but never really stopped to look and wonder. So earlier this year I set off on a sightseeing tour, with the idea of taking some photos for the album (and for my Zazzle store of course). This photo was taken from Westminster Bridge looking north. I had to wait ages for a gap in the traffic. I think the bus just about to come over the bridge completes the scene - two icons of London in one shot.

Dartmoor National Park

Dartmoor National Park is a wild and lonely place, famous for it's free-running, mostly wild Dartmoor Pony, a breed that has been around since the last ice-age. This shows just such a pony, looking very majestic, in its natural habitat.

Lake and Autumn Foliage postcard from Zazzle.com

Tyler State Park near Tyler, Texas. This photo was taken on Christmas Eve and many trees were still in autumn colors. The leaves blanketing the ground in the woods were lovely, as was the reflection in the lake.

Wilson, North Carolina

This photo was taken the day after a rare snow near Wilson, North Carolina. The scene is typical for rural NC; a brilliant blue sky, trees, fields, of course the snow...and an abandoned old house that is slowly falling down; and an old tree, once grand, but now dead, after likely having been struck by lightning. The scene is pretty, but sad. (Also, if you look very closely, you may be able to see a little black cat in front of the house, barely visible in the shadows.)

Ft Pierce, Florida

Florida beaches at sunset are awesome! Here I managed to capture the purple and pinks lighting up the sky behind the sea oats and a lifeguard shack. Be aware many parks close at dusk, so you'll have to stake a spot....this was taken in Fort Pierce, FL on South Beach.
